Say No More to Boredom when Mudik!

For Muslims, Ramadan is the most awaited month. In this holy and blessed month, we are required to endure thirst and hunger from dawn to Maghrib, for 30 consecutive days. Then after undergoing the fasting worship, the much-awaited day arrived, Eid al-Fitr.

As Indonesian citizens, it has become a habit for us to return to our hometowns to celebrate the holidays with our family, or what is commonly known as mudik. Mudik can be done at any time, but usually, we do it every Eid al-Fitr.

Because not a few people are going mudik before Eid, it is effortless for us to find various news about how jammed the mudik trip is. Therefore, on this occasion, I will give some tips on what things can be done to enjoy your mudik trip

1. Eat Snacks

It is very important to prepare a lot of food from home before traveling. Long trips will undoubtedly drain a lot of energy. By bringing a lot of food, we don't have to bother looking for food or snacks while traveling, especially when we are stuck in traffic.

2. Playing Online Games

Children who usually get bored quickly will usually bother their parents. Providing mobile phones for them to play online games can help reduce boredom during the trip.

3. Vlogging

Capturing the moment of the mudik trip can be a way to get rid of boredom. We can take pictures or videos of scenery or traffic conditions during the trip. The content that has been created can be shared on our social media.

4. Watching Film

For those of you who like to watch, of course, there is nothing wrong with watching movies or series during the trip. We can finish the K-Drama or Anime that we haven't finished watching yet.

5. Sharing Stories with Family

Mudik is a time to gather with family. During the trip, of course, we can share with each other among family members. If you don't have enough time together, then the mudik trip might be the right time.

6. Always Do The Obligatory Worship

Whatever the circumstances, worship remains a priority, let alone mandatory. For Muslims, of course, you should not miss the 5 daily prayers. The same goes for fasting. If there are no obstacles, then we must continue to fulfill our obligations as Muslims.
